Hi all

Im not overweight as such. Im 5 foot 7in and weighed 13.3 stone. Now i want to trim down to say 10 or 11 st and then will be happy. 13.3stone was my biggest ( im male ).

Anyway i stopped all the takeaways ( i was eating them like 5 times a week ) plus stopped all the coca cola ( was drinking like 8 cans a day everyday ) probably only have 2 cans a week now.

Anyways i have gone from 13.3 to 12.5stone in a week but for this i eat healthy breakfast dinner and tea plus drink about 2000ml of water a day. On top of that i am following the C25K training app which i have just started when i was dieting which is 30 mins 3x a week.

Problem is that now the really hot weather is here is unbareable to do the running as i cant do it on a morning as i start work 6am till 3pm to which the weather at minute is too warm to run even at 9pm.

What would you guys suggest to do exercise wise that would be ok in this hot weather? Im not going to gym yet as feeling i wanna use the C25K program.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Steve

Can i also add to this that when i have been excersising i have felt my body ache... im persuming this is because im unfit and my body is adjusting. I have been having a protein drink every other day. Will i still lose weight while drinking these? There 20% in protein.

If you eat in a deficit, you will lose weight. That means ingesting fewer calories worth of food than you burn all day long doing everything from breathing to walking to your car to working to exercising.

As far as exercise goes, if you don't want to run due to the heat I'd suggest either walking or doing another exercise indoors. If you don't have exercise equipment and don't want to go to a gym, you could find Youtube videos or look at fitnessblender.com for ideas.

There are plenty of exercises you can do to get your heart rate up and muscles working inside the comfort of air conditioning with no equipment.

Push-ups, dips, mountain climbers, high knees, jumping jacks, jump squats, bicycle crunches, chair dips, burpees, star jumps (or any plyometric movement) are what I can think of off the top of my head. Google "Hotel Room workout" for some examples of how to put them together into a circuit. Or don't bother with a circuit and just do whichever you want for the allotted time. The important thing is to keep yourself working the entire time just like you'd do when running.

There are cooling neck bands or vests which help keep your body from overheating when exercising in hot weather. I know the treadmill at the gym is not as much fun but it may be your best bet if the air quality outside is poor.
