Hi everyone. Just wondering if someone can give me some information or advice. My BMR is 1647. I eat approximately 1200 calories a day and I normally excising daily burning 600 calories or more. I am not seeing much results on the scales. I am doing everything right, drinking my water, not eating in the evening. I just don't understand how the weight isn't falling off, the numbers just don't match up. I have lost 19lbs but it took me 3 months to do so. Thanks everyone:)

19 pounds IS falling off!! You can't get it fast, and have it last. Your doing mostly right........honestly I would advise eating a bit more. I was shocked when I stopped losing weight, added 200 calories a day, and started losing again.

Shake up your exericse.........shake up your food. If you eat tuna on wheat each day, switch to chicken........your body may be getting used to what your doing and adapting!!

YOUR DOING A GREAT JOB, KEEP IT UP!!

    Heyy

To give you an idea my BMR is around 1400 , so therefore I have been advised to eat At LEAST 1200 calories a day. Since your BMR is higher at 1600 I recommend you eat at Least 1300-1400 if not higher, per day, and I agree with the last post, eat your exercise calories too, but always healthy food!
Because you're eating so far under your BMR your body would have been shocked into eating less food, and probably went into "starvation mode" so to speak.

    Good luck :)

19 lbs is huge!! The recommended is 1 lbs per week, which would be 12 lbs in your 3 months. However, keep in mind that if you exercise 600 calories, then you need to eat those calories. Your body is a creature of habit and will begin to think it only gets 1200 calories when it needs more to survive and will begin to hold onto weight again. So eating less calories is not always a good idea...my BMR is 1476 and I burn usually around 400 calories doing cardio. I do not count my strength training in my calorie usage. Also remember that the BMR is only recommended not necessarily what you're body does. If you have more muscle weight than fat weight, you will most likely burn more or vise versa. Follow the recommendation, which seems to be working for you, just stick with it. Weight loss tapers off but you have to stick with it.
  • i found this in a post from yesterday that might help out in this post.

Hope she doesn't mind me stealing it from her, well I borrowed it LOL Please read below from Sugarskull5

To lose a pound a week, a 150-pound person needs to create a 500-calorie deficit from 1,800 calories by either exercising or eating less. Keep in mind this is an approximate scale. Body type and fitness level play a part. It's recommended that the more overweight you are, the bigger the deficit you try and create (meaning: eat less). Just don't go below 1,200 cals /day. As you get into shape, you'll need to eat more to fuel your extra muscle.

YOUR DAILY CALORIE INTAKE TO LOSE 1 LB. PER WEEK:
add a zero to your body weight 150+0=1,500
add 20% for extra daily activity +300
    Daily calories a day =1,800
    Subtract 500 calories a day -500
    By eating 500 calories less
(or by burning 500 calories) =1,300

I hope this helps I copied it from a GUIDEBOOK (Turbo results)
