Why do I get full so easily?

I've been having an issue where I get full easily. I talked to my doctor and was diagnosed with IBS which wasn't helpful considering she didn't go into detail and the fact that other people I chatted with on an IBS forum [later on] said they don't have this issue. I've been consuming anywhere from 600 to 1000 calories a day. But not on purpose. For example, I'll eat something for dinner and wake up the next morning. I won't be hungry until lunch! It literally feels as if I just ate a meal [upon waking up] almost as if dinner didn't "move", if that's even possible... And after lunch, I won't be hungry again until hours later. I actually never really feel hungry to begin with. But it's not my fault. Its not an eating disorder. I constantly physically feel full. Sometimes I'll bloat for hours on end. I didn't know where else to post this by the way. Any help please?

Get a referral to a GI specialist.1

It could be IBS. One of the things IBS can cause is slow motility/constipation. I used to feel the same. My only fix was to ensure I ate dinner no later than 6pm and then went for a walk afterwards. That seemed to get things moving.
I was also advised to reduce my fibre intake and then increase it again slowly with a lot of water - and this combined with the early dinner/walk seems to have fixed my issues.0 -
Not sure if you're a woman or a man, but if you're a woman- have you had a gyno visit recently? It's possible there could be a problem & may warrant a visit if a GI specialist clears you. Better safe than sorry0

have you tracked what you're eating to see what things trigger the bloating?0

Sorry I fell asleep but I'll answer all the questions. I have a bowel movement approximately twice a week. Idk why since I drink up to a gallon of water a day. My fiber intake is all over the place. I've experimented with fiber as high as 80 grams and as low as 5 grams. Actually the more fiber I eat the worse my symptoms seem to be and the less frequent my bowels even if I drink tons of water with the fiber. Idk what my magnesium intake is... My weight yoyos but not in the way you think. When I finally use the bathroom I'll often be 5 pounds lighter and then it comes back on but mainly poo weight. I often need enemas or mirilax or dulcolax. I'm a female. And I track what I eat but I eat a variety of different things so it's hard to tell exactly what food did it, if it is from the food.0

How is your fat intake? Insufficient fat can have similar effects as insufficient fibre.0

I agree that a visit to a GI is a very good idea.
You can also try supplementing magnesium, it keeps you regular and from personal experience - it's much easier on the body than Ducolax or other laxatives. 200-400mg of Magnesium Citrate everyday does the trick for me.0 -

You definitely should see a GI doc. I was the same. On top of my IBS I was told I had "motility dysfunction." Basically the flap at the top of the stomach and bottom of the stomach didn't always work. I could be hungry but couldn't eat after a couple bites cause the food wouldn't go into my stomach, just sort of build up on the way down. Then, if I could eat the food would not leave my stomach and I would be full for a very long time. It was years before I had my stomach growl again. Definitely get checked!0 -
My bet is a combination of feeling full from constipation and eating more than you think. If you were actually eating that little, your weight would trend solidly down regardless of what's in your digestive track. I'd add some fat and fiber to your diet and check in with a doctor if the constipation doesn't improve.0

I would agree with others and recommend a GI specialist. I had this happen and the GI specialist found that I had adhesions on my intestines and bowels causing the problem.0

Yeah just go to the GI. If you have insurance it's totally worth it. Mine knocked some sense into me (at least the second did, the first one just put me on meds).0

Sounds like a gastritis to me. Ask your GP for an gastroscopy.0
