Hi ive been on this weightloss journey before. Somehow it feels all new to me again. Where to start , how to start.. A lot changed after having my 4th baby. I started working, kids started school, schedule is more hectic. Am older. So much more excuses. When I started logging and hitting the gym(for past 2 months) my weight started goin up.. Am not sure what to do at this point. What i did before isnt working for me now.. help

    Eat less, move more.

Get a food scale and make sure your eating the correct amounts .

Plug on your stats into MFP. Eat those.

Exercise is for health, fitness and the small bonus of more calories, as well as (at least for me) a mental break from the kiddos.

Find what you like to do. I personally like lifting weights and going to a gym to do it. I need a break away from home as a SAHM of 5. :)

I would say monitor your food for a week or two with the scale making sure to log everything that goes in your mouth. Make healthier choices during that time, more veg/fruit lean meat smaller portions and see where you are after that. If you lose weight right away stick with it until it stops working, if not start reducing calories from there. It takes 3500 calories to lose 1 pound so if you are looking for a weight loss of 2 pounds a week you need to reduce your calories by 7000 per week or 1000 per day. Also make sure to throw in some exercise (walk at a brisk pace, yoga, swimming, biking, jumping jacks, burpies, jogging, etc.), to qualify for Moderately Active you need to work out 3-4 days a week for 1 hour.

Edit: Also make sure to eat enough calories, the bare minimum you should be eating is 1200, and check out Halo Top if you have a sweet tooth, it tastes good and is only 80 calories or so per serving.

I am trying to lose weight after 1 child. I am older too, not sure how old are you. I will be 38 in August. and well when I was age 32, with no kids, it was so much easier to lose weight. Which I lost 40 lbs and ran up to 6 miles.
Now it's very challenging. the stress is what's getting me down. I work full time plus I basically do it all alone cause my bf works 3rd shift. it's hard. Best of success.
