thats the unfortunate truth about weight loss, it is boring and takes alot longer than anyone would want. Try to keep your eye on the prize and keep at it.
good luck!2 -
5 days is nothing. Weight took a long time to gain and will take time to come off this is a task not play.
Some thing I do to keep non bored
Micro goals ie non scale victory almost every day I give myself a cheer for measurements for weight for going to gym for c25k progress for healthy eating for really anything I do right. Nothing fancy just a 2 second happy dance. It keeps me motivated .2 -
What are you doing (or not doing) in order to feel bored after 5 days?!0
-
Instead of looking at it as monotonous and boring, look at it as establishing a routine and stick with it for a month. For me, it became second nature...I log in the same routine manner I eat, I go to the gym with the same consistency I go to work.0

I think he's talking about these message boards, not the weight loss process per se.
I'm not one that needs a lot of social interaction. I don't have any "friends" on here, because frankly, I don't really care what everyone else is doing. I have to be the one to motivate myself.2 -
I think OP is saying the conversation on MFP is boring, not his actual weight loss.
Well, OP, most message boards are fairly repetitive, it's just the nature of the thing, and in a place like MFP where there's a huge turnover of members joining, talking for a while, and dropping out, it will be even more repetitive.
In my opinion the trick is to find some groups that are active, smaller groups tend to have less repeating. And, of course, choose your friends carefully so your feed is lively and engaging.3 -
I don't find it monotonous but I mostly lurk and don't really talk. A few years ago when I was on under a different username I posted TONS but not so much on this one.
-shrug- I don't mind, but I also don't need/want a lot of social stimulation.0 -
If you are bored after 5 days with your weight loss efforts then you will be doing great in the 12 weeks or so it could take to see real results. /sarcasm
If you are bored with most of the useless posts and {mis}information in the "community" -and I would not blame you for that- then stop wasting time in the forums and go get some exercise instead.1
