How do i get rid of the all or nothing notion in my brain? Ergh, its frustrating because i'll be eating really well and then if i have something sweet i feel like i've ruined my good work so might as well stuff my face and i usually go on a huge junkfood binge and consume everything in the fridge. Does anyone have any tips on how to be balanced? I am never content with just eating one piece of chocolate for example, i generally end up eating half a bar! Even if i feel full or sick i'll just keep eating

I also have an all or nothing mindset.
The times that I have been the most successful while attempting to lead a balanced lifestyle is when I would follow a program.
Having my meals preportioned since I was never any good at that helped.
Since I had to pay extra money for the program not wanting my investment to be for nothing also helped.
Having weekly appointments with a person to be accountable at the center made me stronger.
Eating an enormous amount of veggies and drinking a ton of water and exercise was a large part of my success during those times.
However I currently do intermittent fasting and have done so for a long time. If I did not fast and exercise my feasts would most definitely be considered binges.
It is the lifestyle that has proven by far to be the most successful for myself surprisingly with the least amount of effort.
I love food as well. It almost feels like I can have the best of both worlds now. A healthy skinny body and plenty of good food without feeling deprived.
Since you are able to stop at half a bar and not feel compelled to eat the whole thing that is actually very good.

How to find a balance... this is what I do.
Plan balanced, tasty, nutritious meals, and follow plan.
Don't keep large amounts of "overeating" foods lying around.
Don't demonize any food.
Schedule sleep, rest, exercise. Work on emotions and mindset. I read a lot, lots of great books, articles, and discussions in here.
ETA: Sorry, I didn't read your whole post. Half a bar? Unless that is a pound bar, you don't have a binge problem, you have a perception problem. Eating above maintenance for long periods makes you gain weight. Not getting in sufficient nutrition, makes you malnourished. Having an occasional treat is good for you.4 -

I find that if I am going to spend calories on chocolate, I am going to buy good quality chocolate and savor it. So what if you eat half a bar? Even if you eat half a Hershey bar, that's only 115 calories (230 for entire bar). You should be able to fit that in. Don't feel guilty eating something you think may be unhealthy. It doesn't matter what you eat, it's how many calories you eat. 115 calories for half a bar of chocolate is very much ok.1

Log everything. Those big red numbers can be scary.2

I use semisweet chocolate morsels for my treat but if I really need a lot, like a whole chocolate bar, I buy ONE, savor and enjoy and log the calories. Then I either exercise or somehow fit it in. Just plan for the treats and it won't feel like you are ruining everything.1

Binge eating is a symptom.
You're using food as punishment. Once you take that first bite (which itself has some root motivation) you proceed to punish yourself by overeating.
You likely won't solve this problem until you get to the root cause of your drive to overeat.4 -
I used to do the same thing. Logging it no matter how high the numbers go cured me. Now I log it no matter what it is. I haven't binged in quite some time.2

The worry and stress you are causing yourself for eating those extra calories will be worse that the calories you consume. Just log it and keep going the next day. It's a long journey, don't beat yourself up.3
