Hi everyone
I am trying to stick to a 1200 calorie diet. I do okay but one problem that has been coming up is that I will usually end up eating a snack after dinner. Like strawberries or honey with tea. Any tips to avoid doing this?

there is nothing wrong with eating after dinner - I have a bowl of cereal each night right before bed - plan that snack into your daily calories and you are fine1

put a sign in the kitchen to remind yourself not to eat at night
or save a few calories and just enjoy your late night snack
whichever you prefer1 -
But aren't we supposed to not eat for a certain number of hours. Isn't tat the logic of intermittent fasting?0

No. You can have your calories whenever you like. Nobody "meant" for us to not eat for a certain number of hours.
Intermittent fasting is just another method to regulate calorie consumption. Some people like it, but it's optional for weight loss.3 -
Are you eating because you're hungry or because you're bored/stressed/eating is what you do in front of the TV? If you're eating out of hunger, then don't try to force yourself not to eat. Perhaps you need more than 1200 calories, or you're not getting enough calories from protein and fat so you aren't satisfied. By the way, there's nothing wrong with eating in the evening if you're hungry, but if you're finding yourself ravenous every evening then you need to eat more during the day.
If you're not eating out of hunger, then when you get the urge to eat in the evening, ask yourself why. Then ask yourself what you can do instead. If you're bored, read a book. If you're looking for something to do with your hands while you watch TV, then fold some laundry or take up knitting. Etc. Figure out what's causing you to reach for food and replace the habit with something else.1
