If you did, can you tell me what your eating schedule was and what you would normally eat?
Thank you for the help!

I've had success with intermittent fasting; whilst losing weight, maintaining weight and purposefully gaining weight.
I would eat food to meet whatever my calorie goal was for my body composition goal, because it's the calories that matter not a meal schedule or timing of food.6 -
I've been doing it and love it. I don't have to think about food until it's time to eat! Here's a great website from a guy who does it as part of his maintenance and has done a lot of research. http://bradpilon.com/0

I am technically intermittently fasting, even though it sounds absurd to have a normal meal schedule referred to as anything in particular, and especially anything with "fasting", but technically you could call whenever you aren't eating, a fast, so... anything that makes you stick to your calorie goal is good. A healthy diet is good. Everybody who has ever lost weight, has had a sustained calorie deficit. You are the one who has to stick to your calories. You are the determining factor.2

I do IF...I have a 16_ 8 window. ..I eat 1200 calories every other day and 800 on the other days. I've lost 1 stone in 6 weeks, but most of all I feel better. Good luck
This is not intermittent fasting, this is VLCD. Are you a teensy old lady? Or a toddler? You are seriously under-eating.
This is frowned upon on this site, very low calorie diets are dangerous and unnecessary.
I do 16:8, have done it most of my life, starting in the 1970s. They finally named it IF.
I lost my weight in 2007 and have kept it off - but IF isn't a "diet" it's just a way for me to eat two largish meals/1700-2000 calories in 6-8 hours and then not think about food the rest of the day.4 -
IF is no magical cure, there is some evidence that it does help burn fat, but that is not my primary goal in using it.
It all about meal timing for me. 16:8 knowing its only X number of hours till the next meal has really helped me stay away from snacks or the fast food trap.
11am breakfast, 2pm lunch, 6:30pm dinner. Small snack at 4:30. Seems to break up the day rather well for me. Ive been doing it since January, and maybe 3-4 days in that time have I ever had my stomach grumbling for breakfast. (120 pounds lost since January)
Think another thing you need to have along with IF is meal prep.
There should be no question about what is going to be eaten at the next meal. Im on a mono food thing and eat the same thing every day, but if you do variety, you should have a set in stone plan, and not "oh its now lunch whatever will I have??"1 -

IF with a 16/8 window means you eat your 1200 calories in an 8hr window, it doesnt mean to eat 1200 every other day and 800 for others. thats more of a 5:2 and 5:2 is 5 days eating your calories and 2 days eating 500 calories.1 -

it doesnt really burn more fat than a caloric deficit. if it did I would have less fat than I do now. I havent lost fat any faster with IF and I do 16:82 -

SAME
IF helps in adhering to my diet by keeping me full.
I've always IF even when I was 220 lbs. So you can certainly gain weight IF.
I ate one big meal a day.
I never ever eat before 11 bc I feel sick if I do. I do 16:8
IF fits my eating pattern whether I'm fit or obese.
IF/meal timing does not aid in weight loss/gain/maintenance by itself.
Its the Calories that count

I'm not alone in this!!! omg! I feel extremely sluggish and on the verge of vomiting if I follow the "Always eat breakfast" stupid rule.
Just eat your calorie allotment fill in your macros and then have fun with the rest! When ever you want!2 -
I've been doing IF 16:8 mainly because as a petite female (5'1 135) I don't have a ton of calories to eat per day and I find I like to snack more in the afternoon evening so it's been helping me stick to my calories by not eating in the morning. I usually have coffee with non-caloric sweetener in the mornings...sometimes I'll have 10-30cal of half and half in my hot drinks between 7am-12noon0
