Counting macros vs just calories

Hi I'm new to this and just wondering - which is more important hitting my calories or hitting my macros?
Are macros something I need to be aware of at the start of my journey - have about 40lb to lose - or should I save worrying about them til I'm closer to my goal.
Any advice greatly appreciated

    For weight loss? Calories, 100%.

Macros are about your nutrition, you want to make sure you're getting enough protein and fat to remain healthy. Some people also find that they feel fuller on certain macro plans and that can help them reach a deficit more comfortably.

They are basically the same thing. You want a deficit and you can get there by calories or macros.

I find macros helpful because I personally think a lot of women especially shy away from protein and fat.

Calories are king when it comes to weight loss. Get your logging down, then you can find a macro ratio that works best for you.

start with calories and when you get used to that you can start looking at the macros .. but for weight loss its 100% calories
