Hey everyone,

I'm new-ish to the site/app and I'm still working my way around it. I've got some questions about my macro intake and how to increase my calories and protein without increasing (or ideally reducing) my fat percentage. Can anyone point me in the direction of the right Message Board to ask these questions.
I've been told off (on a motorcycle forum) for asking questions in the wrong areas and don't want to make the same mistake here haha.

Thanks in advanced,
Will

People are pretty nice here. Relax
Also if you click goals you can edit your percentages of fat protein carbs and by decreasing your loss per week can up calories.

    Hello,

I am not an expert or anything but I found a site that has some high protein, low fat foods. Maybe just try searching on google "Foods high in protein with low fat". I searched that and I found this website http://www.eatthis.com/best-ever-proteins-for-weight-loss

I'm not sure if that's exactly what you're looking for but thought I would give it a shot

    Hope it helps a little!

@willfalconxp Have a read of the stickies in this (Getting Started) forum. Lots of good information in their. There is a Food & Nutrition forum that might get a better response to your specific question, but you won't get grief for asking here.

My go to's for protein are chicken, seafood, lean meat. I'm a fussy eater so I miss out on good protein sources like eggs and beans, but they are good as well. Dairy is good for protein but may be a concern for fat (why are you watching fat specifically?).

What I think you're asking is about how to accomplish this in the app or online.

Online it's in the Food/Settings/Goals area, then click edit.

On the App it's bottom right dots (ellipsis thingy "more"), then Goals, Calorie and Macronutrients Goals.

AND STOP ASKING QUESTIONS WE HATE THAT

plus 1 for not asking a detox question.

@willfalconfxp ...like what Rusty740 said, if you are trying to edit the percentages of carbs, fats, and protein goals that display on your food diary(nutrition) all you have to do is look at the BLUE menu tab:
-Click FOOD it's beside the Home button
    -Then click SETTINGS
    -Click GOALS
-You will see Daily Nutrition Goals area, click EDIT
-and you can edit the percentages with the drop down arrows

If you are talking about eating healthy and diet... then you just have to look at the nutrition label on the food and see if it is high in protein, fat, etc... and just try not to eat too much fatty foods, like bacon for example. Good luck meal planning!

This is the Nutrition forum on MFP where we all post stuff food/nutrition related:
    http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/categories/food-and-nutrition

This is a site off MFP that gives some info on what Macros are and counting them:

    Hey everyone,

Thanks heaps for all your tips and advice in regards to meal planning, and thanks @Kbann03 and @amysteri for the URLs.
@Tacklewasher I'm trying to limit my fat consumption as much as possible (while remaining healthy obviously) because I'm trying to bulk as 'cleanly' as possible. I have a goal weight of 80kg, and I'm currently 63kg (as of less than a week ago), but dropping. I used to weight just under 70kg.

Woohoo... As I was typing this thanks/response to you all I have also been taking your advice and editing my food plan to suit my macro requirements. I've managed to get my meal plans to all be within 20g of my target protein, fat and carbs. However some days my calories are over (one day by 100g  ). Will that matter? Particularly as I'm trying to gain weight - as long as my proteins, carbs and fat are all balanced out accordingly, eg. from high to low there would be carbs, protein and then fat.

Thanks once again for all your advice thus far, and in advance for any more tips you can give me.
    Will
