Hi Everyone :) I really love goguma, or, Korean sweet potatoes . I believe they are the same as Japanese sweet potatoes, but don't quote me on that. The thing is, I can't find consistent nutritional information on goguma. I know that the nutritional profile of goguma is different from the traditional American variety of sweet potato, and I just really want to feel confident in the calories I'm putting in for goguma in my diary. Any know what the true calories (in grams) are for Korean/Japanese sweet potatoes?

I wouldn't think there would be THAT much of a difference. They are still a sweet potato variety. I would just use whatever is there for a sweet potatoes and call it a day.

If you want to get that specific then you should consider that there are multiple varieties of other types of food ( fruits, vegetables, tubers etc ) as well. Tomatoes, cucumbers , green beans, potatoes , squashes etc.

It's like looking for the nutritional differences between a Big boy tomato vs. a Purple wine tomato. I think a Purple wine tomato would probably be more nutritious than a Big boy tomato based a few things but I don't think I'll ever find this out for sure. So I just log any tomato as a "tomato".

Unless it's a completely different type like a butternut squash vs. a summer squash then I wouldn't worry too much about the slight differences.
