So... I've lived in a lot of places and there's one thing that seems to separate people and that's their chili. Some areas say no beans in chili, some say beans are standard and so on. But the real debate:

Do you eat CORNBREAD or CINNAMON ROLLS with your chili? If you do cornbread, how do you eat it (sweet, savory, or spicy)? What region/country are you from- feel free to skip this if you want but it's interesting to see the trends!

Neither! I've never heard of people eating cinnamon rolls with chili! Corn bread is not very common either, I've only had it maybe once, didn't like it either.
Me, just bread, I'm from Canada

I'm not sure if this is a typo, but it works either way; although, you forgot to capitalize God.

You may not want to move there haha, the only place I've seen it done is the midwestern US (Nebraska, Kansas, etc). One of the schools I went to served cinnamon rolls with chili every time!

Where do you get your food OP? You keep saying foods that I've never seen paired together. I had to look up poutine.

Definitely Cornbread and Chili around here! Different types of cornbread: sweet, pepperjack cheese, spicy, and even crackling cornbread.

Here Cee :) it's so amazingly good together! We do eat it with corn bread too, equally as yummy. Cinnamon rolls are my favorite though. The spicy and the sweet compliment each other. Try it! Oh and chili with beans. None of that beanless stuff. That's just meat and tomatoes.

i've never heard of someone eating cinnamon rolls with chili. doesn't sound very appealing.

but after googling it and seeing its a real thing, i'm wondering if the people who eat that aren't on a whole other level than me. like maybe its the best tasting combo ever and i need to see whats what. like maybe that's the ONE thing missing from my life.

Try it. Seriously. I know it sounded insane to me too when I first heard of it but once I tried it, I am addicted. Something about the savory spicy chili is complimented by the sweet cinnamon roll. I only make cinnamon rolls with chili a couple of times a year though or I would weigh 1,000 lbs. The rest of the year I make corn bread or just toss in a few fritos and cheese.

I've heard of chocolate in it but I've never tried it! I'd want to make a homemade chili for that I think. Tonight is just canned chili.

Same! But I didn't try poutine until I was an adult so I thought that was the reason.

Cincinnati style chili (Skyline, Gold Star, etc. ) all have chocolate and cinnamon in it. I miss living there and getting a 5-way.

As to regular chili, definitely beans and I like to put my corn bread in the bottom of the bowl and put the chili over it in the bowl. Oh and the corn bread is not the sweet variety. The sweet stuff is reserved for more traditional Mexican food.

What makes me really sad is that living in Canada we get some of the american food network shows that go around to all those amazing chili restaurants and bbq places and phili steak sandwich places, but dont get to try any of it.

I notice U.S. corporate restaurants almost always put shredded or melted cheese on their chili. I don't know if it's done like that so much when it's home cooked. I don't like cheese on my chili.
