Anyone else have a family that had really messed up views on food?
For example, My aunts would always want family to visit and cook for them. They would cook these huge elaborate meals. If you ate a normal portion and didnt want any more, Immediately they would get insulted that you didnt like their food and want more. They would guilt trip and get actually mad at all of the effort they put in to feed everyone.
Naturally everyone would give in and have more. Almost immediately the script would flip and those same aunts would then start talking about how they cant believe how much everyone ate and would start insulting everyone for having too much.
Looking back on it now, they were pretty damn crazy when food was involved.

For my wife and in-laws (who also live with us), food = love. If they offer you food and you turn it down, they take it very hard. Saying "no thanks, I'm full" is exactly the same to them as saying "sorry, I don't love you anymore." Makes it very difficult to control portions because then they're all like "You don't have to log this, it's healthy! Why are you rejecting my care!?!"0
