I've lost 47lbs, I feel great. I only have around a stone and a half left to lose, I'm worried I'm going to plateau soon. I have been losing 2 lbs per week but I can see it getting slowe and slower. Can people give me advice on what to do to boost my metabolism and lose them last 20 lbs? I'm hoping to do it by the end of September. Thanks

I've got 17lbs to go and I'd be interested in the answer to this too. I've slowed down to losing 0.5-1lb a week.

If you're still losing you're not at your plateau yet. Weight loss can slow for any number of reasons.

When you do reach a plateau ie 0 weight loss over 3 weeks or more, try eating at maintenance for your current weight for a few weeks then restrict. It should resolve it.

With the last 20 you may do well reassessing your calorie goal every 5 lbs instead of every 10.

Dropping your loss to .5-1 lbs a week would be a good move too. The body can only burn so much fat per day and with less fat you don't want to start using your lbm as fuel.

Your metabolism- moving more in daily life, upping your daily activity, will help burn more calories. Fall back on old inefficiencies, go talk to the person in the office instead of texting, fold the laundry as you are taking it out of the dryer- all those body squats! Take 2-3 trips when clearing up rather than doing one, walk to the store or gym if you can. If you have a garden spend 10 min here or there tending it. Lots of little activities during the day can really add up without raising your appetite.

Those last pounds are slow. :'(

    Cheers, h.

Ps, you could always find out what your maintenance will be at your goal weight and start eating at that number. It will still be slow but, you may find it less stressful. h
