hi guys, i decided not to weigh myself at the begining as last time i tried to lose weight it demoralized me and i nearly started having an eating disorder because i got obsessed with the numbers on the scale, instead i decided to measure myself.

I have to add i've lost it mainly by cutting calories and doing very light daily exercise, so is it good progress or should i push myself harder? i'm aiming for slow and steady, i've found that fast weight loss makes the weight come back with a vengeance if you so much as look at a cake.

If any of you can share their rate of loss over a similar period that would be helpful, thank you in advance for any help.

3 inches in 9 months is pretty slow and steady. Seems like you're going at a good rate! If you just want to lose inches, light cardio is good. If you start weight training you'll also lose inches, but expect it to even out over time as you tone up.

That was about my rate when I started. It was probably about 30 lbs in 9 months. I think it's good. Especially if you were not terribly overweight to begin with.

Any progress is good progress, but I'm in the camp that slow and steady wins the race. So, yeah, I think it sounds good. :)

Everyone loses at a different rate. If you're constantly challenging yourself and working hard then don't worry about comparing yourself to anyone else, just keep rocking you!
