Hi MFP community! I'm here looking for tips and support from to be happy, fit and healthy.

My primary goal is to rely on whole, less processed food as fuel so that I have more energy and years left in me. If that's your goal too let's be buds.

Despite being in my early 30s I recently went through a bout with hair loss (among other issues) that served as a wake up call. The hair loss was after I basically didn't eat for a month due to dental work and stress in Nov - not a typical reaction for me, but I lost my appetite and I think part of me was sickly satisfied with that... A weird relationship with food followed, and I was eating more, but not fueling my body. Just junk. Not a lot of weight gain, but high cholesterol - bad stuff.

Since then I started eating healthier, quit smoking which has now allowed me to work out, and am discovering a healthier life that many of you know TONS more about so I really just want your wisdom :)

I'm also trying to overcome being a picky eater and incorporating more fruit, vegetables and one day fish (don't know why it seems so icky to me, I'll get there eventually) into my diet. I've had some successes, still stuck on a few things - artificial sweeteners, sugar in general and sometimes I can overdo it with fatty dairy.

I just want to be happy, healthy and have a healthy relationship with food! And hopefully no more weird hair falling out episodes lol. Or obsessiveness/deprivation - don't want any of that either.
