I am at a loss. I know good carbs should be consumed, but what I'm limited on the quantity. I mean, is it possible to be a body builder with type 2 diabetes? Are you? If so, could you help with some tips or links?

If you have Diabetes and also concurrently want to bodybuild/resistance train, you don't necessarily "need" carbs at all. If you were to have carbs, I would only include them during the workout in the form of a waxy maize or highly branched cyclic dextrin and directly post workout when you're naturally most insulin sensitive. You don't need carbs at all to survive as your body can produce glucose from amino acids and ketones from lipids either ingested with food or from fat storage.

How many carbs are you allowed and why do you see that as a barrier to bodybuilding? Protein is more important than carbs to bodybuilding, so you shouldn't have a problem.

    I'd start here: https://diabeticmuscleandfitness.com/

It's run by Phil Graham, a bodybuilder with T1D, and has a fair amount of free content, as well as being a source for his book on the subjects.

ETA: https://sigmanutrition.com/episode159/ a podcast episode of SNR featuring Phil.
