If you value restaurant calorie counts and nutrition info, make your voice heard here by July 3, 2017:

Or go to http://regulations.gov and search for
FDA-2011-F-0172-0621

Have you ever looked at a restaurant's nutrition facts, either online or at the restaurant itself? Without this regulation, that information could be hidden from you. Let the FDA know you want this rule to stay in place.

Why would they take that information away(hide it)? I'm sure it would stay in place.

It's never been a rule in most places. Some restaurant chains voluntarily publish their nutritional information and they will continue to do so. What is delayed right now is the regulation that would make it mandatory for chains with more than 20 locations to disclose nutritional information. But, nothing is likely to be taken away, so I don't see this as much of an emergency. I'll save my outrage at the government for more pressing issues.

That's not exactly what it says. It says that companies will have a longer period of time that they have to comply by but there will be a greater fine if they go beyond the extension. Says nothing about current companies hiding the once available information.

This isn't about removing the rule, it's about extending the deadline to comply with the rule...which I'm fine with.
