After training 4-5x week for the last 12 weeks for an upcoming competition, thinking of trying Crossfit after my comp for a couple of months (that's how long my Groupon deal lasts) Wanted to know if any other Powerlifters have done or are doing crossfit and how did it affect your PL training?
Thanks

So you have a meet coming up and you're considering adding crossfit *before* the meet...?
To that I would say- no no no no.
You don't want to be making major changes with a meet coming up. Especially something new to you like crossfit.

Personally I would never do crossfit. It's just random exercises compared to the training I require.

i powerlift, and we've had several on our team go back and forth between powerlifting and crossfit. it just depends on what you want to do and what you enjoy. I PL because its slow and steady. I wont do crossfit because its too much high energy wods and i'm lazy.

I love PL because of the simplicity, 3 main lifts and a few accessory lifts and of course donuts. I'm not looking to switch, just thought I'd try something different before I start my next training cycle in the fall.

I seem to be able to steadily increase weight on legs. Not so much on chest. I've been stuck on the same weight for awhile.

Sigh. It is my favorite way to train, but I am injured. I miss deadlifts :(
