Looking for help on how to do this?
Your stats will help and some idea of your goal weight and body fat.
Just guessing for starters...you are probably looking at beginning a structured weightlifting program and starting a calorie deficit and getting your protein up to around 1g/lb body weight-ish. Your first task will be to lose some fat while keeping the muscle, then you can gain more muscle.
Gaining muscle while gaining fat go together and losing fat while keeping muscle go together if done right.2 -
Abs are made in the kitchen. It's gonna be all diet while lifting which builds muscle which in turn burns more calories helping that deficit2

Eat at a deficit to get rid of the belly, follow a structured progressive lifting program and eat 1 g/lb bw of protein to help retain muscle while losing fat (maybe get some newbie gains).1

Yeah, what he said.1 -
Eat at a slight deficit. You need a deficit to burn fat, but sufficient fuel to prevent your body from burning anything other than fat whilst you exercise (weights). And don't eat back your exercise calories.
But beware, it's slow. My problem area is also my belly. I've lost >12 lbs, my legs have toned, my arms are getting there. My belly is getting smaller, but it is slow. And there sadly is no way of steering your body to burn more in any particular part of your body. Plenty of pear shaped people have the issue with their legs.
Patience and hard work will pay off!0
