calories added by exercise

:flowerforyou: Am I supposed to add the extra calories earned by exercise every day?? ( I don't) And the total calories I burn on my eliptical says much lower than the calories on the 'add exercise' portion....so I am confused...I add the lower amount instead of MFP amount and stay within 12-1300 calories per day.

When you log exercise, it gives you more calories to eat. You're suppose to eat them.
That being said, the elliptical settings on MFP tend to be a little inflated, I eat back 80% of the calories it says I burn on MFP.
The number of calories MFP gives you to eat everyday already has a deficit built in, you don't need to eat less than that or even exercise to lose weight.
It also says 1200 NET calories. This means 1200+ exercise calories.
Let's say you burned 300 calories at the gym. You now are going to eat 1200+300=1500 calories. You will still lose the same amount of weight because:
1500-300=1200 NET calories, the same as though you ate 1200 and didn't exercise at all.0 -

YAY! That is good news and thank you. I really just didn't understand it and wasn't sure what to do.0
