Calorie Goal Question

Hi Friends!
So, I have a quick question regarding the calorie goal. I set mine to lose 1lb a week average, MFP set the goal to 1340 (i might be 20 off). I try to work out every day to up my deficit, but, is this calorie goal, BY ITSELF, supposed to help me reach my weight loss goal? And exercise calories count for extra? A little curious as to how that works.
Thanks!

Yes, MFP assumes you will exercise and eat some or all of those exercise calories back. Just be warned that MFP usually overestimates calories burned through exercise. Many have had success eating back half of their exercise calories rather than all.1

Yes. Eat extra (above 1340) when you exercise.

Thank you! I thought this was the case but I wanted to make sure.0
