If you reach your protein goal before you lift is it still ok to take a protein whey shake post workout?

    I don't see why not, just keep in mind it's extra calories.

    I have calories spare, just wasnt sure if too much protein was a good idea

    You will be fine. There is nothing wrong with extra protein.
