Is it that this is the only place that tracts carbs or something?

Keto can provide some pretty big results in a relatively short amount of time.

Big results in little time. Sounds perfect until you mess up and eat a donut then binge into a box a donuts and then brownies, then pizza and then fries and then cake.

Cake after fries? What kind of heathen are you?

It's generally trendy at the moment.

There are a few legit reasons to do keto...my aunt did it because she had really bad seizures and it controlled her seizures. Some diabetics do it to control blood sugars, but that isn't necessary...my dad had type II and controlled his blood sugars just fine and wasn't anywhere near keto level with his carb intake. I have a friend who is an ultra runner and she does keto because it helps her not to bonk when she's doing ultra marathons.

A lot of people do it because they think it's necessary to lose weight because there's a whole lot of misinformation (some intentional, some just misinterpretations). You also drop a lot of water weight off the bat which makes it appear superior on the surface, but ultimately levels off just like anything else.

Please remember I did not ask what is keto and why is it good.
I think I asked why this place attracts so many Keto people.

Cee134 - I need a button for Hardee-Ha-Ha, very funny. Then again, it could be true.

It's all about trends...nearly 5 years ago when I started here, Paleo was "it" thing to do...and while they're are still plenty of Paleo folks around, it's not nearly what it used to be...Keto is just the current trend and dietary "religion" of the day.

cwolfman13 that is so right. So right. Paleo really used to be big. Now it's keto. Thank you all.

I think everyone should just do Atkins. Lots easier with awesome results.

    Must end with something salty.

It's not this place that attracts Keto people, it's just the "hot" thing right now. Calories in calories out. When most people cut carbs it results in a calorie cut because they are not longer eating full bags of Doritos and sacks of white potatoes and cake and stuff.

You get to eat bacon and butter whilst loosing weight and speak with other people who also enjoys eating fabulous and fatty food.

    The food porn is amazing.

I'm doing low carb, because it really seems to work for me - both with weight loss and generally feeling better since I have to cut out sugar. I like using mfp for it because it helps me make sure I'm not going overboard with fats/protein to compensate. But i also have a few other apps too. Mfp just seems easiest to calculate macros and quickly check nutrients. And the thought of having to log high carb junk food is scary enough to keep me on track

I'm not attracted to keto at all. I'm more of a carbs guy but only certain carbs. I'm picky when it comes to my carbs.

Because it's the new fad. Any diet-related discussion location on the interwebs attracts the keto acolytes. They're worse than crossfitters, IMO.
