Setting calorie goals

How has everyone else come up with their calorie goals?
At the moment I have mine set quite low, but with the activity level also set low so on most days I get a decent fitbit adjustment (if I don't spend all day on the couch!)

I got my calorie goal from mfp and eat back exercise calories from my synced Fitbit0

I used a TDEE calculator to determine my burn at sedentary (2200) and then knocked 600 calories off it and eat my calorie adjustment back from my Garmin. Dropped it down another 100 calories after losing my first 30lbs and will review again when I get down to my initial target weight which is another 40lbs.
However MFP's goals work pretty well for most.

At first I used the estimations from MFP and after a months worth of logging and weight loss results, I work out my own TDEE and take it from there, reviewing it monthly for adjustments. So at the moment I have a goal of around 1250 cals which should let me lose 5 pounds over a month.0
