Not an NSV but an SNV(V)

Ever felt like you've been super good with your diet and exercise and when you come to your regular weigh-in (in my case, weekly) you find that you weigh EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE LAST WEIGH-IN?

I have. Often. And in the past, I would feel dejected and probably fall back into old habits, fast.

However, what a difference a change of perspective makes.

Now, I celebrate. Because what it means is that I've reached my "new normal". Weight loss isn't linear and many factors can impact a weigh-in. Weighing the same as last weigh-in means that my last weigh-in wasn't a fluke because I was dehydrated or had a completely empty stomach or because the wind was in the east. Weighing the same gives me a more reliable "average" that this is now who I am...for real. I am not defined my original starting weight. My current weight is my starting weight. In my mind, it puts me on a more solid footing to reach my lower "new normal" in a few weeks time.

Consolidation is a good thing. A scale non-victory, victory.
