Hi! 50 pounds in 7 weeks is really fast, but you can certainly lose 14-20 pounds in that time (2 pounds per week is usually the upper limit of what people can lose, and you might see some larger losses from water weight in the first few weeks).
Is it for some kind of event? Nobody will likely know how much you've lost unless you walk around with a scale, but even a smaller loss will show.2 -
I believe you can do it. Stick to what you are doing to lose it and a little exercise you will reach your goal0

Why are you being so rude. It is none of your business. And I believe she can lose it if she believes in herself.2 -
I'm sorry you thought my response was rude. Aiming to lose 7 pounds a week is extreme, and there's really no way to sustain that in a way that is safe and healthy. I'd rather encourage people to lose weight safely and healthily, even if that means accepting a slightly slower rate of loss. I also think it's important for us to be happy with any weight loss, even if it's slower than we'd like.
I think anyone should be thrilled with losing 14-20 pounds in that timeframe.
OP, good luck with your goal! I really do wish you success7 -
50lbs by mid August is a lot. Please lose it safely! Best of luck to you!0

Encouraging people in unhealthy and unrealistic weight loss goals is unhelpful. You assist no one by being blindly supportive of a goal which is potentially dangerous. 7lbs a week is a deficit of 3500 calories per day. That's like burning 3500 a day and not eating a single thing. Self belief is one thing, being safe is another.
This site is supportive, not because it will blindly cheer-lead a goal, but because it cares enough to educate. AliceDark is not the person who has been rude in this thread.10 -

That was not a rude response from @AliceDark . She's absolutely correct; 50lbs is a lot to lose in 7 weeks and there's no point being disappointed she "only" lost 20; that's still very good.0 -

I thought it was extremely kind. If I was trying to lose that much weight at that rate, I hope somebody would care more about my well-being than my feelings.

Okay your right about her losing it. But she needs to believe in herself and that is all I'm saying. Please forgive for calling you rude2
