Going on vacation...

I'm going on vacation with my wife for 5 days. My daily calorie goal is now 1,800. I was thinking of raising it while on vacation to prevent angst over enjoying meals out. What would you say is a moderate amount? I'm thinking between 2,200 to 2,500. I do plan on continue my daily workouts (60-90minutes burning 600-700 calories). I have shed 61lbs since I started using MyFitnessPal 440 days ago

I suggest 3K and enjoy your vacation. You could always wake up at like 5 am and hit a 2 hour walk or something but then you could eat whatever you want without too much anxiety. That's kind of what I did when I went to the beach earlier this year...ate a ton of food, but was just really active and didn't even end up gaining any weight at all. Great job on your weight loss!

Strangely enough, usually when i go on vacation and eat more than usual, I come home and shatter a plateau within the week. Sometimes I wonder if there's some to the 'carbing-up' theory or the 'extra calories confusing your metabolism' theory or whatever bros are calling it these days. :smirk:

    This

When I recently went out of town, I found that with being busy, having 2 meals a day and maybe a protein bar for a snack worked out really well and left a lot of calories for dinner.
