No soreness?

Hi!

I'm brand-new to strength training, just a couple weeks in, and I just realized I have absolutely no soreness from back/shoulder/chest day yesterday. I definitely 'felt the burn' at the time, but today? Nothing.

I should be able to feel it at least a little, right? I have definitely felt some soreness the day after my previous sessions, and I interpreted that to mean that I really did work the muscles and they're healing up.

Is this a sign that I need to increase the resistance, or is my expectation of soreness after every session misguided?

Soreness isn't that good an indicator of a good workout. You should increase resistance based on your ability to perform the specified set/rep scheme you are following.

    Nice. Thanks, everyone!

I had a feeling this was a case of incorrect assumptions on my part.
