How do all of you stay patient in all of this? I keep jumping on the scale, and trying things on...not giving my body a chance to even lose!

Before too long it won't consume you the same way it does in the begining! One thing that helps is getting your food diary figured out ahead of time, even for a week if you can so you won't need to be quite as obsessed with the figuring out of food every couple hours. If you change your meal or snack you can always go in and change it.

Some members find cooking on Sundays for the week, making several dishes that will take them through the week helpful, making salads ahead of time, store them prepared in a large ziploc baggie or plastic bowl. Same with veggies, precut them all so all you have to do for weekday lunches is put them together the night before. Other ideas are use the snack size zippy bags and count out your almonds when you get them from the store and then that's done and all you have to do is grab a bag for a snack.

Cooking up extra chicken breasts works great as then you have chicken for the meal that night, lunch the next day, change it up and toss it in your salad. Use chicken differenly on other days, stirfry, crockpot meals (Chicken Crockpot Salsa a recipe here on MFP is to die for, we all love that and it's made it's round with the members, simple simple to cook up). When I hardboil eggs I do a full dozen and use them in various ways.

Any of those ideas sound like they might help? Hope so, it truly does become far more routine when you preplan and as time goes on. The scale is simple one form of how we're doing, but I don't find it the most reliable myself. If you've not taken measurements yet, definitely think on that. The tape measure doesn't lie. lol

Could you possibly plan a weigh in one day a week and have your hubby put the scale some place where you don't deal with it each time you walk by. It's actually far more exciting I find not weighing too often, otherwise it's to rattling and crazy making, just like you're finding out. lol

Thanks! I will try some of those things you mentioned Healthy. I gotta say, I love working out again...I feel so much better! I couldn't work out for health reasons...for about a month, and I missed it!
