Hi All!

My names Gemma from the UK.
I gave birth in October last year to my beautiful boy Connor.
He was born at a whopping 11lb 5oz, so a very big baby!!!
Naturally I got larger than normal for me but because I am 6ft I carry extra weight better than a shorter person. So after Connor was born I didnt feel like I looked so bad, until I eventually got on the scales and saw 15st 13lbs looking back at me!
Connor had a post natal diagnosis of down syndrome which was a huge shock to us, and eating has always been my coping mechanism so I guess somewhere along the line I let it get out of control.
I logged on to MFP just over 2 weeks ago, firstly just monitoring my calorie intake without stopping what I was eating, I managed 2 days of that before I realised just how much I was eating and started sticking to the recommended calorie intake for me.
I dropped from 15st 13lb to 15st 5lb in the first 9 days.
I hopped on the scales mid week and can see I have lost a little more this week as well, but wont be official until I weigh in tomorrow!
I'm so proud of myself I just wanted to share!

Good luck everyone with your journeys!

Gem :-)

Hi Gemma, nice to see someone uk Based lol. Everyone is from America who adds me!
That's amazing well done. I started last week doing the same logged one day out of curiosity to see if I was really eating that bad..... erm big fat YES was the answer. I'm 5"6 and 16 stone!
Also had my boy in October Joshua was 8lb1oz , was great as a tiny baby now won't sleep, feel like it's payback haha! We're so close in story and weight (except I'm a shorty) would love to share my journey with you, egg each other on...I really lack motivation at times, esp with lack of sleep. I'm sure you get that!
I'm also due to weigh tomorrow, fingers crossed we both see a good number x
