Diet break

After recommendations on MFP I've decided to take a diet break. I've lost 98.5lbs after 18 months on 1200 a day plus exercise calories.

For those of you who have taken diet breaks - how do you work out what is maintenance? MFP recommends 1630 for me which seems low.

Well remember it's 1630 plus exercise calories.

Id just take the caloric equivalent to your average loss for the past four weeks and add it to your average calorie intake for the same time period. If you've been eating 1700 calories and losing a pound a week that's 1700+500=2200.

A couple of hundred calories over for two weeks is not something to worry about so don't worry about being too exact.

I never ease up. I just do it. I've never had an issue with excessive water weight doing that.

    Great, thanks!

So over the last 4 weeks I've lost 5.7lbs so that's 1.425lbs a week or 4,987.5 calories a week. Or 712.5 extra calories a day on top of my usual 1200. So 1912.5 calories a day?

Yeah, just be aware, you will have more food and water in your body from the additional caloric intake, so some weight gain WILL happen, doesn't mean you've put on any fat.
