I am considering purchasing a fitbit charge 2 but was surprised at it's cost. Are they worth it?

    What are you expecting it to do? Mine tracks my overall activity (which varies greatly from day to day), makes it easy to be encouraged to move more often, gives a fairly good estimate of my TDEE (for how much I can eat), helps track my resting HR & sleep and gives me text/call alerts. Fitbit step competitions can also be kind of fun. It also has rudimentary workout tracking. For me, it's totally worth it. It's perhaps not laboratory precision equipment, but it's consistent to itself and gives me reason to move my very lazy *kitten*.
