I'm not sure if this helps or not, but you are DEFINITELY not alone. I've been in a calorie deficit (or at least struggling to maintain one) for the greater part of two years. The frustration is real. I've been measuring and logging all my food for so long that it has become habit, but I completely agree about wanting to be able to "just eat a meal without tracking it". I do that sometimes. Sometimes I regret it, sometimes it's fine. After a while you learn moderation and what a portion size is.0
