Bodymedia reviews?

Hi, I am in the market for a bodymedia. Those of you that use one, Do you love it? Has it helped you loose weight? Tell me about your experience with it. Wondering if it is worth the money, as it is pricey! But, I am willing to buy one if it will help me. How much weight have you lost with it? Also, Where did you buy yours?
Thanks!!

I really like mine, and it has helped quite a bit. It gives me an accurate idea of how active I'm being when I'm not working out and also how much sleep I'm getting. Which is huge for me becuase I don't sleep very well. With it I can see if there any patterns to my sleep in regards to exercise and food intake. My husband really likes seeing how many calories he can burn (and then eat back) in a day.
Once it's on I don't notice it and since I rarely wear short sleaves the arm band hasn't been an issue for me at all. I had a friend wear it in her bra on days she was going out in a tank.

I enjoy mine as well. I am a recovering fitbit user which I hated both for its interface and its lack of accuracy. On the interface I did not like to always have to calculate where I was on consumed Vs. burned calories. BMF give me a current position and a projected. It plays well with MFP and you can set them to match so even if you don't sync you know where you are. It is expensive but to me the HR simulation and thus accuracy is worth it. I would not be surprised if the website goes to free since Jawbone has acquired them and this makes BMF very comparable.
A new model that is smaller is supposed to come out next month but it is maybe going to be delayed but you may want to wait. It will be smaller and waterproof and have longer battery life.

I really liked mine, however, I was tired of paying the monthly fee's for the website. I had no complaints about it except for the monthly fee. I went to Fitbit instead - you don't have to pay for the sync/website. I just started, so I cant compare the two.

My wife bought a Fitbit and she likes it. I evaluated the FitBit and BodyMedia Fit Link and chose that over the FitBit for the following reasons (which may not apply to you at all):

    1) Knowing full well how absent minded I can be, I was concerned that I would lose the FitBit. My wife hooks hers into her sports bra, but given that I"m a guy it would wind up around my waist or in my pocket. I felt that losing even one FitBit would negate the financial difference between the two devices. My wife has lost three FitBits and washed another, and she's way more together than I am.

    2) The placement of the BodyMedia device on my upper arm enabled me to wear it for workouts like boxing and Thai boxing.

The devices seem to be similar in their reporting with an edge I think going to the BodyMedia device in terms of the functionality of the smart phone apps. Having said that, the differences are rather small.

Should you go with a BodyMedia device, there is a BodyMedia group here on MFP. Although the group itself isn't active, it contains several members who are all friends and actively encourage each other. I would recommend checking there if you get one.

I LOVE mine! I love that I can see how many calories I have burned, steps taken, what I am burning right now (1.4 cals) and my sleep cycle. Those are my most important features plus it synch's well with MFP.
I LOVE IT. So far, my best and most expensive personal purchase.

I love mine and appreciate that it integrates with mfp. I was a fitbit user and wore both for a while but now I just use my bodymedia. Good luck with making your decision.
