Hi guys, my name is Brandi and I am currently on my pre-op liquid diet for gastric sleeve surgery on July 11th. I would love to have some friends who are currently on track for, or have had gastric sleeve surgery.
I'm really excited for this next chapter of my life, and I am looking forward to working hard and discovering who I am again.
I am also open to anyone who is active on here to be friends with - just please be understanding of my goals, as I am understanding of yours

Hi! I just had my sleeve surgery on 6/29. Almost a week down and I already lost 14 lbs. Youre going to be so happy that you did it8

Band to sleeve revision in December 2016. 65 lbs down since revision and 139 down total! Best decision ever! It still takes lots of work and patience. Expect stalls where you lose absolutely nothing for weeks (or months for me!) at a time. Listen to your doctor and your body! I just tried on my prom dress and it was huge. I have a 20 year class reunion coming up and I am going to KILL IT! I also tried on one of my favorite dresses from JR high and it was too big also!

I've never had weight loss surgery but I do want to pass on that it's important to keep up with the supplements when you have it due to the lack of nutrients you will be getting. A friend of mine got the sleeve and now looks very skinny and pale because she has not kept up with nutrition and has just let the weight fall off. She does not look good. Just wanted to pass that on. Hoping it goes well for you.4

Mine is scheduled for 7/19. So excited for this journey and basically a new lease on life!

I'm on the pre-op liquid diet. I go in Monday, 7/14 for the sleeve.4

Follow your doctors advice. Don't listen to the haters.4

Hi! I was sleeved 6/28 and am down 16 lbs. My doc said I could start eating real food as tolerated. Shaved deli meat, ground meat, and soft baked fish are on my menu now! I get full after 2 bites.4

Hi Im having the sleeve in a week. Good luck with yours!2

Hiya, I'm in the UK, on my last leg before being accepted for a sleeve but still have 16lbs to lose in 9 weeks. I have rejoined MFP as it has worked well for me in the past. I cannot wait until my surgery and my new life! Good luck in bucket loads to those of you coming up to your surgery.3

I was sleeved on 04/26/17, down 39 lbs since surgery and 57 lbs since my highest in January 2017. I had not been tracking my food intake until I re-joined MFP and had no idea how many calories I was eating per day.3

Just sleeved on 7/13. Would love to have a weight loss buddy. Still on mostly all liquids, struggling to get in water and protein shakes right now.1

I had my sleeve surgery March 24, 2017 and have lost 87 pounds to date. I am finally beginning to eat a little more food now (1/2-3/4 cup) per meal, but it's been hard to do. I want to drop another 10 pounds and am working on it. Starting strength training on machines at the gym because of some "flabbiness" that needs toning.
I LOVE this site to log in and track all of my calories, carbs, fats and sugars each day. It keeps me accountable. I've been on it since January (?) when I was on my 3 month pre op diet the surgeon and NUT had me on.3 -
Hey guys! Thanks for all the advice and support. I've been a bit inactive due to having my surgery. I am now two weeks post op, and I'm doing good! Down 26lbs. This has been a journey with pain, and a lot of mental trial. I know I am just starting, but I'm optimistic!6

Best of luck to you, fellow sleever! I had my surgery one year ago today and have lost a total of 126 pounds, putting me at a normal BMI for the first time in my adult life (though I still want to lose another 15-20 because I'm quite short).
It is a huge adjustment in every area of your life, so take it slowly and be good to yourself. Don't rely too heavily on scale numbers. Your system has had an enormous shock and there will be periods of rapid loss followed by stalls. All perfectly normal! Keep up with your water and supplements, and don't try to eat anything that's too difficult for your newly tiny stomach to handle. If your hospital has a support group, go to meetings -- they're a big help.
MyFitnessPal is a wonderful tool for sleevers because you can track your protein, which is the most important part of your diet right now.
Hang in there!!!6 -

Wishing all of you the very best in this journey! while our fitness and weight loss journeys are different, I have come to appreciate how hard it is to start from scratch, to feel like my body can't move another foot. My body has been in a very unique place over the past many months. As a result I'm in the worst shape of my life with an ever expanding waist line. I will keep my fingers crossed for you! You can do it! :-)0

I'm getting a sleeve in November, still to be scheduled. But I'm on track, meeting with my nutritionist. Friends are welcome! I'm new to MFP, and I've never tried to track calories/protein before. All new for me.
Now 272lb, goal to get 1600-1800 cal/day with 100g protein. That's a lot of protein for me! What are your go to proteins?1 -
Had mine done 7/17
Beginning weight was 234
Currently 205.6
Very excited!1 -
Hey everyone, thanks for the amazing response. I've sent out friend requests
I'm currently 33lbs down. It's really exciting!2 -
Hello lovely.
Wishing you well. This is a lifetime commitment for each of us, not matter what way we decide to take on our weight loss.
It is challenging and difficult at times and nicer when the load is shared among friends.
God bless you.

Hi everyone! I was just sleeved on 9/7 & am so excited to be on this journey with my new tool! As of today I’ve lost 13 pounds since my surgery which will be 2 weeks tomorrow & around 33 pounds all together. I will be 50 in January & my goal was to be fit & healthy...I’m on my way there! I do not believe in shaming people when they make mistakes because we ALL have our bad days & we ALL make mistakes. I do not believe in judging others. I do believe in being a sounding board & a listener when someone needs to vent or is having a rough time. I’m a cheerleader, a friend, a listener, a Christian (don’t worry I’m not some Bible thumping holier than thou lol) & all around just supporter. No one but those who have been where we all are can understand what we are going through! Ok I will get off my soapbox announcement of who I am now & just say I’m happy to have found others like me & feel free to friend me, follow me etc...0

I was sleeved 08/2016 and have lost only 61 lbs. I believe it is because I live a very sedentary life (full time office work and full time college student). I am back on MFP to keep track of what I am eating and will finally be going to the gym soon. Good luck to everyone on this journey.0

Hey guys, I am 14 days out. Liquid diet for 2 weeks now and 2 weeks more - even over the Thanksgiving Weekend! Would love to make friends with y'all to see how everyone is surviving and get tips from recent sleevers.0
