Okay, so I'm 6'4" and weigh about 241. I weigh myself every day (I know that I shouldn't) and am on the C25K workout plan. I just finished W4D1 yesterday. I have my diary open and am looking to lose weight. I've been at 241 since Saturday. What cardio methods would be best for someone of my size and history? Does my diary look good for someone trying to lose weight for my build? What suggestions do y'all have?

1. If you want to lose weight its not about staying in your calorie range, its about eating HEALTHY. A lot of the foods you had were unhealthy. Try to work on that!

Except losing weight *does* depend on creating a calorie deficit. You can eat as healthy as you want, but if you're doing it in excess, you WILL gain weight. OP, what is your daily calorie goal? You need to make sure you're eating enough for your height, weight, age, and activity level.0 -

No. Losing weight is all about the calories. Eating healthy and exercise is about good health, but does not cause weight loss, a calorie deficit does.
I lost around 50lbs eating the typical SAD diet but I paired it with IF and my calories were restricted. I also did absolutley no exercise while I was losing weight.0 -
A good place to start is bodybuilding.com they have a guide of what to eat at every meal! They have recommendations for men and women. Find cardio you like and add some HIIT workouts into your rotation I got some free workouts on youtube brad gouthro is cool. Also strength train! Good Luck!0

Lol for all of you who thought I meant eat as much as you want, sorry but you misunderstood what I meant! I meant, that you can stay in your calorie range eating all junk and you will not necessarily lose weight. What I meant by the calories don't matter, is, UGH i'm having a hard time explaining this. I mean eat your calorie goal with HEALTHY food. That's all I meant. I'm saying don't eat junk and say "Oh I stayed in my calorie range today." That's all I meant. For those of you who misunderstood that and said I don't have a proper grasp on nutrition that's not true and kind of hurt my feelings. You should consider that maybe you misunderstood the post.0 -
I'm seriously frustrated that all of you just assumed I;m stupid. Sorry I'm an idiot and you can't understand what I meant...if you looked at my diary and progress you would see I do know what I'm talking about I just worded it poorly. Sigh.0

I am only writing this.. because it is what I see my husband do.. and I know he gets results... He is about 6'4" and weighs about 260... (he is VERY muscular) He is trying to get back to about 220 himself. He does not jog because he says he is so big that it bothers his knees... he does use the elliptical and jumps on the trampoline... he also lifts weights... which he allways has done his whole life.... since he was 7. LOL.. yes he use to lift milk jugs full of water! LOL!! He enjoys riding his bike also... it is easier on his knees.
For nutrition... he eats protein shakes after workouts.... and then tries to eat as healthy of diet as he can most other times.
Just to reassure you... everyone come to my husband and ask how to work out.. what his tricks are.. what can they do... etc.
He also uses the web site bodybuilders.com for a lot of workouts and advice! HOPE some of this helps!0 -

Other readers can only go by what you actually typed out, not by what you may have meant-we're not mind readers When someone posts that 'losing weight is not about staying within your calorie range, it's about eating HEALTHY', that's just incorrect info and people will naturally rebuttal it. But, I don't think anyone was attacking you personally or thinking you were an idiot-just disagreeing with what you posted :flowerforyou:0 -
I also wanted to mention some of the food he eats, Here is a list of foods he eats often!
Orange juice
eggs/omelet
oatmeal-EVERY morning with raisins and cinnamon and honey in it
black beans
frozen fruit
peanut butter
almonds
salmon
shrimp
crab
baked potatoes
vegetables (everyday with every meal)
fresh fruit
non fat milk
whey protein
sandwich with turkey and cheese and mustard on oroweat nut bred-he eats this EVERYDAY for lunch
sushi- (when he treats himself)
yogurt
turkey burger (occasionally)
hot wings and ice cream when he decides he wants to eat like crap! LOL!
AND how could I ever forget.. TUNA TUNA TUNA lol.. lots of tuna!0 -

I get that you are encouraging the OP to try to eat healthier, but what you are saying is still factually incorrect. You can eat anything and as long as you maintain a calorie deficit, you will lose weight. Obviously you should try to also get enough protein, fat, and carbs, but weight loss really boils down to caloric intake. If the OP decided to eat fast food every day and he hit his calorie goal, he WOULD lose weight.0 -

I never said, again, that he WOULDN'T lose weight. He won't lose it as fast or as efficiently. THis is factually CORRECT because processed foods slow down your metabolism, high sodium foods make you have water retention, and therefore he would not lose weight as fast.0
