hi!
i've only been back on MFP for two days, but already noticing that i go past my sugar allowance before i've finished lunch!
it seems to come mostly from my breakfast, which i have to eat at work, and generally consists of fruit and cereal bars/biscuits.
is this going to stop me losing weight? i dont seem to be going over calories or carbs. i need to lose 3 stone and i'm worried.

From what I learned, going over MFP recommended nutrients won't be too hard if you've set yourself a very low calorie intake, hence as long as you're not having a chocolate bar every 30 minutes you won't gain weight.
Sugars are still necessary in a diet and I'm sure if you are eating right in every other aspect, you'll be fine.
I've been going over my sugar limits every once in a while (by only a little bit) but I'm still losing about 3lbs a week at a steady pace with exercise. I'm more worried about my sodium intake being too high (because of water retention).
Also, i drink a lot of water (about 2L per day).
Hope I helped at least a little!
Edit: and as long as you're not eating junk on a constant basis, the formula is still the same; more calories burned than gained will lead to weight loss!0 -
MFP's sugar limit is based on the recommendation for added sugar, not natural sugar. There is no national guideline for natural sugar. The diary does not discern between natural and added sugar, so the fruit is putting you over, even though it's perfectly fine. Unless you have a medical need to track your sugar, don't worry about it. I don't bother tracking suagr (and neither do many here) since I blow through it daily in fruit and never have any problems with weight/fat loss.0

Same as above - I very rarely eat anything with added sugar, but LOVE fruit. A couple of oranges puts you over MFP's daily sugar allowance, which is crazy! I've disabled the sugar-tracking, and instead track my fiber intake You can do that by selecting the "Food" tab, then "Settings", and replacing the drop-down menu that says "Sugar" with something else.0
