Trying MFP out again!

Well, a couple of years ago MFP helped keep me on track and I lost 25 pounds! Since then, I've not only started a new job, gone through and completed a Masters Program and am now entering yet another Master's Program, but I've gained it all back PLUS an additional 10 lbs.! ☹️ Ive since tried going back to MFP though havent been motivated and have slacked off A LOT (its those weekends that get me)! Im trying to start new today, and hopefully begin to see results. Wish me luck!

    Welcome back! And congratulations on finishing your first Master's and starting on your second; I loved grad school and have always thought about going back for another degree.

    You mentioned that weekends are rough for you. I have my week structured so that I have a lower calorie goal during the week and a higher calorie goal over the weekends. Would something like that work better for you? As long as your weekly calorie average is on target, you'll still lose weight. The only thing to be aware of is that it can cause more daily scale fluctuations, so you need to know that's going on and not freak out if you see spikes on the scale. I weigh in daily so the fluctuations average out, but if you're weighing weekly, I would strongly recommend weighing in on your last lower calorie day so that your body has as much time as possible to process any water retention from your higher calorie days.

    Weekends were my problem too. While at Costco I found these Green Tea Fat Burner Pills that I started taking on the weekends, morning and afternoon. I noticed that my cravings dropped and I wasn't snacking while binge watching all the TV I missed during the work week. I also noticed that I ate a lot less for breakfast and lunch, which helped me bank calories for weekend dinners and fun. I don't take the pills during the week.

    I also started to bring my lunch to work instead of eating out. I bought a bento box which has smaller containers that portion out your food. What really helps is the food scale I starters using. Really keeps you honest.

    No luck needed. IF you're committed to the process it will happen. If you're "hopin'" for good results just cause you're here, that's where you'll need luck.
