    It will all depend on your starting point and bodyfat %. Me for example? If I just had a baby...maybe 7-8 months. Coming off a bulk cycle? 2 months (or less)

    In summary it is pretty much what I do:
    -Small deficit (around 0.5lb per week)
    -Strength training (I actually do very little direct ab work)
    -Keep protein adequate (for me I do 1g per lb bodyweight or more)

    Oh and I will add.. I carry most of my fat on the lower body. Even when I bulked my waist was still pretty lean, and it is one of the first places to go down when I start eating in a deficit.

    This may or may not be the case for you. Belly fat can be stubborn for many people, so just gotta keep plugging away.

    I'm envious lol, my legs are shrinking and my stomach has barely changed.
