Question about daily calorie/fitbit burn

Hello all,

I hope everyone's having a lovely day!

Quick q. I've been a MFP member for a long time and also had a fitbit for a while. However, earlier in the year I switched up models to the Alta and actually started using the app rather than just hitting my 10k steps for the day and being done - and it reads across my calories differently now on MFP with the sync. The weight loss is steady/fine, but I'm a spreadsheet person and I'm struggling to get the accurate daily overall picture that I would like to log down.

I eat 1400kcal a day, but then I also walk around 15k steps a day before I end up in the gym at night (I walk 1.6 miles to work each way and then some whilst I'm rushing about at work) usually leaving me at around 17k steps minimum for the day (which includes any running/interval sprints that I do).

The fitbit has my daily calorie burn down - today for instance as 2629kcal burned / 16,336 steps (I had done 11k before I went to the gym today for an interval training workout). However, I'm assuming that is factoring in BMR, and I'm not sure it's giving me an accurate burn if I was to eat some extra calories. I don't really think I should be logging at least 10k of those steps as calorie burn as they are the minimum I should be doing? As I would estimate that I only burned around 200kcal on my actual workout how I've been working it out is just misusing that from my usual 1400 then letting myself have the extra 200, but I'm not sure if I'm doing myself a disservice.

Would appreciate thoughts on getting an accurate calorie calculation (also because it's the weekend tomorrow and though my calorie budget has been known to be 'flexible' just because it's Friday I don't feel like derailing!).
