All scales created equal?

Maybe a bit of a dumb question but I'm looking to buy a personal scale for myself to better track my weight. There's a lot of options on Amazon and I want something that's cheap (probs less than $20) but how do you know if it's accurate?
All reviews vary considerably about the numbers fluctuating and I want to be sure I buy something consistent. Any recommendations/ones to avoid? Or are all scales created equal?

Hard to know without buying one, you can check how accurate they are with some weights when you do purchase some. I've used Salter and Weight Watchers ones myself and found both relatively consistent.0

I would read the Amazon reviews, personally.0

The only advice I can give is this: whatever scales you get, it's important that you are consistent. Weigh yourself on your own scales at the same time of day and in the same spot. I have a set that I love and use them daily. I tried my mums scales a few weeks ago and they weighed me at almost 3lb heavier and the ones at the doc office have me almost 4lb lighter. As long as you use the one set and use only it, you should be able to track pretty accurately. Good luck!!0

I bought mine based on reviews. Nothing fancy, just a digital readout (no body fat percentage or other functions like that). I keep a 30 lb kettle bell next to it to check its accuracy, and it's only ever been off by .2 lbs on occasion.
