Interesting question, I haven't lose enough to be able to answer, I'm curious what others with greater losses have to say. I always wonder about this aspect of weight loss.0

Very interesting. Old friends know your hard work and want to emulate you. The new friends dont know much about your determination.

Old friends and family envy your hard work and new friends can't believe you was ever fat. I even get the "hey you don't know the struggle of trying to lose weight, you never been fat!" Some friends and family hit me with the "as soon as you stop you're going to be fat again...." sad some have no faith!6

How can this be a challenge? I live. They live. Our lives intersect and intermingle. Nobody goes to jail. It's all ok.4

I was only heavy for a couple of years in my late 30's due to my thyroid giving out on me. I'm tall though (5'11") so I carried my weight well and even tho I was clinically obese, many people thought I was only slightly overweight or pregnant lol. Many people actually told me I looked good when I was obese but I was quickly developing all the lovely medical problems that go along with carrying all that extra weight. As for new acquaintances, when they continuously offer me food and I continuously politely decline, I always whip out my before & after pic to show them that it's not that I don't want to partake in social eating rituals, it's that I'm never ever going back to being obese again as long as I can help it (and only I can!) and they can hardly believe I was ever that large, they say I don't even look like the same person in the photo lol0
