Do you think that a kittywalk like this one is necessary for them to enjoy a secure environment outside?
There are lots of ways to do outside safe for kitty! I personally have a screened in porch. Other people use catteries- if you get a tall one you can set it up right next to a window and that can be the in/out point for your cat. Below is one from Walmart or if you are handy you can build your own.

According to the internet this little devil decided to run off with that person's pop tart and then mean mug him/her when he/she chased the cat down and got it out of the cat's mouth.
