Mfp is showing me that I am running over my sugar every day. Is 60g of sugar too much for a female? 60g is far less than what I'm used to eating.

If that 60 grams is coming from added sugar and processed foods I'd consider cutting back. Not just because of the sugar but because consuming food with little nutrition means you aren't getting your daily requirements. If that 60 grams means you are eating fruit and vegetables I would not be too concerned unless you have a medical condition requiring lower sugar levels.

It's 15% of calories, and as the prior poster said it's just a guess since they can't track added sugar and have no idea how much of your sugar is from more nutrient dense foods. I think a better rule of thumb is under 10%, ideally under 5%, of calories from added sugar (that's from the WHO), and then not worrying about that from fruit, etc., unless you aren't making protein goals, eating enough veg or healthy fats, etc. Personally, I look at fiber and run through where my sugar comes from to make sure there's no surprises and it's mostly from nutrient dense (ideally whole) foods or plain yogurt, stuff like that.

I think it depends on your health, age, activity level and where the sugar comes from.

60g of sugar is the equivalent 15 teaspoons of white table sugar, or almost 1/3 of a cup. 60g of sugar is about 240 kcals.
