I see everyone saying I'm gunna try and do this. If u say this. U will fail probably. You need to tell yourself your going to do it and not try. Anyone can try. You need to believe you can. I was not walking cuz if a wreck Feb 2016 and was told maybe won't ever. Well. 1 month later I was walking. 1 year later I was lifting 225 again.vwwknzm8vuw8.jpg

Congrats on the hard work for your recovery.

Yep, "going to try" is planning to fail.

    I disagree.

Trying is how humans learn. And there is not one fitness or diet or lifestyle change out there that fits everyone. You have to be positive for sure, but don't be afraid to try something because it sometimes take time to learn what works for you. Also you need to be prepared for failure and have a plan on how to pick yourself back up. Failing is not necessarily bad, it teaches you what didn't work. How you respond to failure is more important.

Agreed. But saying your going to try is he easiest way to fail. Doing something and then you say u tried it is different in my eyes.so many people say tomorrow im going to try and go to the gym before work. And never do it.why? Cuz they aren't committed yet. I did the keto for 8 weeks and hated it. To me i tried it and didn't like it. But i didnt quit. Trying something and saying your gunna try is what I was getting at mate. You cant say try befote you start it.doesnt work out well most of the time

I respect the opinions, we all know what Yoda said about trying. But Yoda is fictional. There is nothing wrong with saying "trying". I'm sure whatever word you use, the failure/success rate is just the same. My opinion. Thanks.

It's all about mentality man. It's where ur head is when your saying it. I'm not saying do be scared to fail. In my eyes if u don't quit u dnt fail. Quiting is an option. Failing is a process of learning. It's how u do the next chapter after you fail

Totally agree! My boss calls them "weasel words" words like try, should, maybe, probably, hopefully, none of that flys at my workplace. It's been fantastic for cultivating my self discipline. :)

Yeah, may be semantics but I consider "gunna", more of a "this might happen but most likely not". IMO replace gunna with will (signifying a deep commitment) and you have something.

This totally reminds me of my time in the military. All of those words were forbidden when speaking to someone of higher rank, the reasoning being that each implies that failure is a possible outcome... and in the military failure is never an acceptable outcome lol.

Yoda wisdom:. "Try not. Do or do not, there is no try."
Basically do something, if you fail that is okay. Just keep at it until you succeed.

The point being is many people "speak" of trying which is a lackluster attempt at anything. The result of attempting anything is you either succeed or fail. The degree of either will always differ though. But whenever people say they are going to "try", my experience is that it's not that much of a priority in their life. That's neither good nor bad.

Fictional or not, the message stands true. If we only relied on non fictional people's quotes, they may be forgotten. How many non fictional people do you know have said a quote that generations of people will remember to help with their own success/failure?
