How important is breakfast and what happens if I consistently miss it

People always say how important breakfast is to help get your day started, but I often find I'm not hungry in the mornings. If I consistently miss breakfast but still consume my goal calories will there be any adverse effects?
Thank you

Not important at all. As long as you're still getting sufficient calories/nutrition the rest of the day, you don't have to eat it.1

Which people?
I rarely eat in the morning and have lost weight just fine. I like saving most of my calories for dinner/dessert. Meal timing is pretty irrelevant, and won't impact your weight loss, unless a certain eating schedule means you might overeat, or sleep poorly etc.3 -
Breakfast isn't any more important than any other meal of the day. Meal timing is irrelevant in weight loss and as long as one is getting in their essentials and calories on a daily basis, you DON'T have to eat breakfast. The whole slogan "breakfast is the most important meal of the day" was created by cereal companies and then broscienced by the fitness industry.
Personally, I don't eat breakfast (before 12pm) 6 days and sometimes 7 days out of the week. For years.

The most important step is admitting it. Don't become one of those people who mask the taste of the coffee with sugar and flavored syrups, and then talk about how much you love your coffee.4 -
it's only important if you're the type of person that will eat less in the day because you've had a filling meal.
I'm not one of those people and once i've had my first meal I can't stop being hungry.3 -

Breakfast is really important for me. Without it I am not in a good place and would be more prone to overeating the wrong food choices. For others it isn't important at all. They do better consuming their calories later on in the day. We are all different and what works best for one will not work at all for another.1

You are my female twin! The earlier I eat, the more I want to eat.1 -

This is truth.
But seriously OP, meal timing/frequency is a preference thing and will vary between people. What's important is that at the end of the day/week you're hitting the correct calorie targets for your weight management goals.0 -
Don't force yourself to eat if you're really not hungry.
I spent years making myself eat breakfast even though I didn't want it. It just made me hungrier later. These days I tend to have a small snack (100-150 kcal) a couple of hours after I wake up, and that's it until lunchtime. Since my body is perfectly happy to do an hour's gym routine on that, I figure it's all I need. I'll get the rest of my calories during the afternoon snacking period0 -

For me breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It sets the tone for the rest of the day. When we sleep, our bodies are working hard at recovering and restoring and the time frame from bed to morning is a bit of a fast, or so I think. Coffee masks our bodies natural signals to tell if we are hungry, it is a natural appetite suppressant so you may not feel hungry but your body after spending the night recovering and restoring needs some fuel, or that is what I think only. For me, it helps me stay full during the times I normally would pig out. If your not a breakfast person though, I think it is a lifestyle preference and shouldn't matter as long as your getting in your calories at some point during the day.0

I had breakfast for the first time in a couple weeks today, because it was my birthday and also mostly my body really needed it. But most days my body is just fine without it. It's totally up to you and how you function.0

I break my fast whenever suits. Sometimes 8am, other times not until 6pm.
Meal timing is of minimal importance for the general population (more important for athletes).0 -

Yes, as we've talked about before!0 -
Eating when not hungry got a lot of us fat!2

Not important especially if u do intermittent fasting those who skip breakfast and just eat from 12-8 do well0
-
Breakfast has always made me a bit nauseous. As long as you get in your nutrition later, go with what makes you feel better.0
