Hello,

I've been trying to find an activity tracker for a while now, but never found one that really convinced me. I just don't want a thick thingy on my tiny wrists.

Maybe the Garmin vivosmart 3 or Fitbit Charge 2 finally might be what I'm looking for. There are some for me important questions though:

can I set a custom minimum and maximum heartrate?
the VOmax setting: do it work on itself or does it need to be connected to my phone and the app for some rason?
and related to that: can I use it in workout mode without having the app running on my phone? When running I usually have a better HR sensor connected to my running app I want to use.
oh, and how long does the battery really last for you?

Thanks a lot.

I have charge 2- vomax works by itself, you don't have to connect to your phone. And regarding your second question, you can start workout on the watch itself you don't need your phone. You need to have your phone on you only if you want to used connected GPS. I don't connect to my phone during runs because it uses my data too much but I still get my pace and map of my tin and all the metrics. Also, I think you can configure your min and max hr from the Fitbit app.

And battery lasts about 4-5 days. I usually charge it when it's 25-30% left and it charges in 2 hrs max.

Thanks a lot @gerla_k. I'm still undecided. I think I'm tending a bit more towards the garmin as the functionality seems to be better for what I need, and it's less visible. On the other hand fitbit certainly has the better customer service and app.

what about setting custom minimum and maximum heartrate in either? Any equations won't do my massage range justice at all.
