New Fitter Me

Good day, :)

I am a longtime member of Myfitnesspal, but was not really active. Last week my husband has his 6th heart attach and something just clicked in my head.
We need to lose weight and be fitter versions of ourselves. We quite smoking two weeks back, but I do not want to gain weight.
I have started an exercise program and my husband has started walking after his angiogram/angriography.
I just need some help and motivation to keep going and I suspect I will find that here.

Hope to hear from you all soon. B)

Welcome back! I'm really sorry to hear about your husband. Make sure that, along with all of the good health-related changes you're making, you also make some time to deal with any kind of stress that you may be experiencing. Seeing your husband have his 6th heart attack has to be really scary and stressful for you.

Your post mentions exercise for the both of you, which is fantastic! Keep in mind that, when it comes to losing weight, your eating plan is at least as important (and I personally think it's more important). My experience has been that logging my food in MFP is the single biggest thing I can do in order to lose weight successfully.

If/when you have time, make sure to read through the pinned threads at the top of each forum. There's a ton of excellent information available there.

    Good luck!

My husband and I sometimes take a twenty or thirty minute walk around our neighborhood after dinner. That's been a nice low impact addition to our day, and a pleasant way to visit with each other. I think it helps with stress, too. Congratulations on committing to improving your health. Way to go with stopping smoking - that's an amazing accomplishment!
