Hi! I've recently joined up with a personal trainer who has given me a training plan and diet plan based on macros instead of calories to help me lose weight and gain strength/fitness. Is anyone else using this method and seeing results?

I pay more attention to macros than I do to calories when I'm planning my meals for the day, especially protein. I find it easier to focus on hitting my macro targets than I would if I were just trying to hit a calorie goal. However, keep in mind that counting macros and counting calories are really two sides of the same coin; it's a different way of adding up the same thing. Protein and carbs have 4 calories per gram, and fat has 9 calories per gram. If tracking macros works for you...wonderful! Carry on  If you ever feel that counting calories would work better for you, just know that it's not really a big difference and you should be able to move in between the two without too much trouble.

Counting macro's is counting calories taken one step further to get certain amounts of the different macronutrients.

When you are counting macro's, you're counting calories. If you are counting calories, it doesnt mean you are necessarily counting macros.
